“You are,” Hanako says. “Yashiro, you are. You’re dead. You died. You’re not meant to be here.”
“—I’m just at school,” Nene urgently continues to explain. “And I don’t think I’d do that, if I was dead. I’d do something different. Something, you know. Something... special. Something to mark the occasion! Something much more poignant and meaningful. I wouldn’t just go to school like normal.”
“Can’t get much less poignant and meaningful than living in a toilet! Yashiro," says Hanako, "you're dead."

“That moral compass you have won’t help you this time. You can’t be afraid of death. Being so means your own death. Your grave. You must let go.” Tsukasa drawled.
Crossing his arms, Amane admitted to himself he preferred this view, looking down at him for once. “How about you let go.”
But in a world where morality was a liability; trapped in a web of impossible wishes that uttered sins, with one bound to power, and the other by his humanity, that was just asking for the impossible.

Kou seizes him by the elbow and draws him aside. “We gotta get out of the city,” he says in a rapid undertone. “Teru-nii’s out on patrol tonight, and this whole city is Minamoto territory. He’s gonna hear about it if supernatural stuff starts happening. And we can’t risk running into him. We can’t. So I’ll drag you onto the train myself if I have to, and that’s the end of it.”
A familiar hostile spark flickers to life in Mitsuba’s expression. “I am not taking a train,” he says witheringly. “Minamoto-kun, I’m not doing it. Are you insane? I mean, for real? Are you actually literally out of your extremely small mind? What if something happens?”
“To you?” says Kou. “Or because of you?”
