Summary
“Galinda, why won't you look at me?"
Exhaustion that had long set into Glinda’s bones shrouded her voice as well — the careful mask she had spent her whole life perfecting had long begun to crumble, “I can’t explain, Elphie. No matter how many times I try to change the ending, nothing works.”
The inquisitive look that Elphaba would wear so often back at Shiz made its way onto her face once more. That same worried tone which was firm, yet so soft, which she would use on Glinda when she had worked herself up was back as well, “My sweet, tell me what's wrong.”
“I won't stand to hear your screams echo when you melt again Elphie, not when it already plagues every thought that runs through my mind. I can’t watch you die again as I have been cursed to.”

Or, Glinda cannot bear to live in a world where Elphaba Thropp is dead. Luckily for her, the Grimmerie is not too keen to let her. Stuck in a time loop that throws her around the cycles of grief, whatever is Glinda supposed to do except try to figure out any and every way to keep Elphaba from melting, and leaving her.
