The first tear hit his hand before he realized he was crying.
"Shit," he muttered, voice cracking. "Bro, come on."
But once it started, he couldn't stop it. His shoulders shook, and he fumbled with his blindfold, yanking it off before the tears could soak through. The fabric came away in his hands, and he clutched it against his chest while the sword and stone lay forgotten in his lap.
He'd been used before. So many times. People saw what he could do—the fire, the heat, the weapon he could become—and that was all they saw. All they wanted. Until they didn't need him anymore. Until he was too much trouble or too dangerous or too attached, and then they'd leave. Every single time.
The tears came harder now, hot against his skin. His breath hitched in his throat, chest tight with the effort of trying to stay quiet. He didn't want anyone to hear. Didn't want anyone to see him like this—broken down and pathetic behind a crumbling wall.
"I'm so stupid, bro," he whispered to himself, voice cracking. "So stupid."

At the age of 18, Dazai ran away from the mafia to fulfill Odasaku’s dying wish. When he ran away, he ran to a region of Japan bordered from the rest of the world, still stuck in the Taisho Era. He quickly learned of the Demon Slayer Corps and was able to finish Final Selection. He quickly moved up the ranks due to his knowledge from the Mafia.
Three years later, he is known as Giyuu Tomioka and has a new life for himself free from the Port Mafia. Until Mori shows up at a Hashira meeting, stating that he will be assisting Shinobu. Along with him, he brought Chuuya and Akutagawa. This has thrown off Giyuu’s entire plan to live a life away from the Port Mafia.
Giyuu now lives his life in fear of being discovered as Dazai Osamu, the Demon Prodigy.
