Summary
Stiles keeps running into Derek, everywhere and often. And it’s not a problem, per se, a little bit the opposite, actually, because Stiles is still trying to figure out how Dad got mixed up with one of the oldest, most prestigious—thank you, suspiciously well stocked local history section of the public library—werewolf families on this side of the continent, but. It’s also a lot of a problem, because instead of actually talking to Derek like a sensible human being, Stiles turns into the worst version of his awkward teenage self whenever he spots the other man.
So, it’s a little bit of a lot of a problem, or something like that.

Summary
It’s dark out when Sam wakes up again, tangled in sweat-soaked sheets, and panting wildly. His hand is trembling when he rubs it over his wet eyes, and he has to clench his teeth against the sob he can feel bubbling up his throat.
He startles when his bedroom door creaks open, and watches in sleepy confusion as Bucky makes his way across the room towards the bed. Bucky is warm and solid when he reaches out for Sam, hands gentle as he pulls Sam close, and Sam is too exhausted to question anything, just lets himself be tucked against Bucky’s side, head on his chest.
Bucky tugs the sheets up and over them without a word.
Sam breathes out shakily, fingers curling into Bucky’s shirt, and closes his eyes again.
[3 times Sam falls in love a little bit more, plus the 1 time he finally does something about it.]

Summary
“We found Billy here,” one of the officers says, nodding at the boy, “about to drive off in this very expensive car. When we asked for documentation, he wasn’t able to provide any, so we ran the plates, and your name popped up.”
If possible, the boy—Billy, apparently, shrinks in on himself even more.
“I’m assuming you didn’t lend your car to Billy?” the other officer speaks up, the question mostly rhetorical.
“No, I did not,” Richard answers nonetheless, looking away from the boy to check over his car. It’s in pristine condition, with no visible bumps or scratches, and none of the windows are broken. Frowning, Richard turns back to Billy. “Which makes me wonder how you came to be driving it around town.”
[Steve's father isn't around much. This time, however, he makes his visit count.]

How different Billy must look to his father, though, after so long; a grown man instead of the scared teenager he’d been the last time they saw each other, Billy’s split lip still bleeding as he hauled his duffel into the Camaro where Steve was already waiting, answering Neil’s seething, “Don’t you dare come back home if you walk away from me right now!” with a trembling but equally furious, “Don’t worry, I fucking won’t!”

Thirteen minutes until Peter’s supposed to be at the house for Talia’s birthday lunch, and nearly half an hour since he’s stepped into Beacon Blossoms. Not that Peter minds, usually, if he’s late to whatever pack bonding nonsense his dear sister has decided on that week—rather the opposite, in fact, her pinched expressions and exasperated sighs amuse him endlessly—but his wolf has been restless all day at the prospect of having to spend the afternoon with a bunch of people he barely tolerates on his best days.
And the woman throwing a fit at the front of the line, voice pitched high and shrill enough to make his teeth ache, definitely isn’t conducive to his peace of mind.

The Hydra base goes up in flames as Bucky’s walking away from it, not a scratch on him or a hair out of place.
Clint nods to himself. “Cool guys don’t look at explosions.”
Sam pretends he’s not laughing. Nat does grin, completely unashamed.
“Bucky, what the hell—” Steve starts, only to be interrupted by a chorus of, “Language, Cap!”
Or, alternatively; 5 times Bucky is a total badass plus the one time Tony proves he's still got it.

Summary
The Witcher has pitched his tent in the farthest corner of the camp, barely even inside the clearing they’d decided to use as a resting spot for the night anymore. Mother says it’s because Witchers are protectors, that it’s in their nature to put themselves between the monsters of the world and everyone else.
Romriel isn’t convinced.
Or; 5 times seeing the good in Geralt makes someone change their mind about Witchers + 1 the time the wrong people mistake Geralt's human side for a weakness.

“You think it’s a side effect of the serum?” Steve asks, mouth full of curly fries. Bucky throws a ketchup packet at him, which only makes Steve kick him under the table. “Maybe you were ever so slightly lactose intolerant before, but the serum heightened it? Like all our other senses?”
“Pretty sure lactose intolerance isn’t a sense, buddy,” Bucky tells him with a roll of his eyes. He takes a long drink of his soy milk shake, which is actually much better than he’d thought possible before trying it for the first time. “‘Sides, I was eatin’ all kinds of shit while I was on the run an’ nothin’ ever bothered me much.”
Steve nods, thoughtful. Then, a little forlorn, “Cheese, though.”

It’s been almost twenty-four hours, but still none of it seems or feels entirely real.
Well, to be fair, learning about the existence of parallel universes, finding out there’s at least one other Earth that has been destroyed by a threat his Earth isn’t even fully aware of yet, and getting two other-universe versions of people he’s currently not exactly on speaking terms with dropped into his lap has been kind of a lot.
It might take Tony another day—or year, more likely—to wrap his head around all of that.

As a Beta, Steve might be able to read Bucky’s body language, but he can’t smell the sour, panicked scent basically rolling off of him, growing stronger and thicker by the second. Tony can, though, and he doesn’t even think before he moves closer to Barnes, led by basic instinct more than anything else. He ignores Steve’s concerned, “Tony,” as he comes to a stop only inches away from Barnes, and waits until Barnes meets his eyes before he bares his neck in invitation.

Now, Jim is about as straight as a person can be—tested a couple of times by drunkenly making out with his best friend, which Tony loves to bring up whenever it’s really inappropriate to do so—but he has no problem admitting that, objectively speaking, Barnes is an attractive guy. He’s got that whole gruff, frowny, bad boy thing a lot of people are into going on, but whenever he actually does smile, it’s devastating.
One time, Jim had seen a girl on the street do a double-take and nearly walk into a magazine stand after Barnes had smiled at one of Tony’s dumb jokes.
Or, alternatively; Rhodey means well, meddles, and actually sort-of-kind-of ends up helping in the end.

He’d expected to get some extra attention during the off-season, given Jack’s little stunt after winning the Cup, but even after over half a decade in the NHL, he’d been completely taken aback by the sheer intensity of the entirety of the hockey media descending on him.
Getting drafted first overall didn’t hold a candle to being the former best friend of the league’s first openly queer player, apparently.

With a deep sigh, Peter unlocks his car, tucks his briefcase under his seat, and then just breathes for a few long moments, head tipped back, and eyes closed. He’s had a throbbing headache behind his right eye ever since Cora’s crying fit over breakfast, alpha healing completely useless against it, and had to schedule a last-minute appointment for his lunch break, meaning the last and only thing he’s eaten today was the piece of buttered toast Derek had refused.
He’s been running on coffee and sheer stubbornness for the past six months, and he doesn’t see it changing any time soon.

Summary
It’s a little weird, probably, to miss someone he barely knows. It’s definitely stupid to get all possessive over someone he’s met face to face for all of five minutes, especially another, strange Alpha who’s more likely to punch him than submit if he’d listen to his haywire instincts, and try to lay a claim on him. And the pining is just downright pathetic, if he’s being honest with himself.
Tony’s doing all of it anyway, though.
