Summary
The night of the banquet arrives and Vasco is a nervous wreck, sweating like a sinner in church. He's not the biggest fan of getting gussied up for formal events, much less for having to preform on stage at them. What makes it worse is the Vice Overseer is his partner for the duet. Ira Bolton himself has some reservations about this whole thing, but is too busy trying to undress Vasco with his eyes and trying not to think about the fact that he might just love him. Each recall their prep work for this whole debacle and come to a mutual conclusion.

Summary
Vice Overseer Ira Bolton, bored out of his mind at a monthly meeting recalls a more clandestine meeting he'd had a night previous with crowned prince Vasco Kaldwin, and ponders how it ended. Then he says something stupid. At the same time Vasco Attano Kaldwin recalls the same meeting in a similar circumstance and has to consider the very real possibility that he actually loves this man he meets up with for, ahem, research purposes. He is then almost outed by his own father.

Summary
Alphonse is familiar with this repeating cycle of nightmares. One intrusive memory nagging, creeping in, until he is torn from sleep with it fully realised in minds eye, breath caught, heart racing, hands fisted in the sheets. Then with it fully embedded, it lies in wait for the moment he closes his eyes and succumbs again.
Byron, in the wreckage. One intrusive impulse made true with the knife in his hand.
In reality, Byron lies mere inches from those same hands in the warm covers of their bed. Alphonse cannot trust them. He also... cannot sleep.
But maybe, when Byron wakes from another nightmare of his own, the solution he hastily proposes might just work far better than either of them could ever expect.

The part of his brain trained to assess, to calculate, nags at him—this is the perfect opportunity to execute the final phase of an exceptionally well-crafted long con designed to eliminate him—but when Alphonse allows himself to drop to the forest floor, when Byron looks up and finds him among the trees, his smile is immediate, bright and easy.
“Hi,” Byron says, and it comes out so soft and awed that he clears his throat and tries again, “Hey, Alphonse.”

“You’re such an ass–” Tim sighs, eyes rolling up and sight settling on the moonlit ceiling. The edges of Jack’s hair pokes into his view, Jack straightening himself up as much as possible to get Tim’s attention back on him.
“And you love it. Ya’ love me, babe. Your rod down here is poking me like crazy and tellin’ me aaaall about it.
