You can’t keep this up, the eyes, so bright and blazing, seem to say.
Watch me, Shuichi thinks spitefully.
The eyes watch him — judge him, pity him — but Shuichi turns to Kaede all the same. Like a child hiding under the covers, he keeps his gaze firmly off the intruder.
The World Destroyer invades Shuichi Saihara’s perfect world. Slowly but surely, everything falls apart.

Summary
Shuichi stills. He can feel the way his newfound fur is bristling, slowly but surely puffing him up to twice his size.
Somewhere nearby, a door shuts on rusty hinges. The floorboards above bend and creak ominously.
There’s an awful snapping sound. It’s accompanied by a muffled sigh.
“Ah, I’m not lucky at all…”
And then the wood above Shuichi splinters, and Shuichi screams. It’s a raw, guttural sound that springs forth unbidden as the sky itself collapses on him.
For a moment, Shuichi almost sounds human again.

Summary
“Because the experiment is successful, you will be given a name to separate you from other failed or incomplete projects.” The scientist gazes at the board, reading something printed there.
“Your name is now ‘Saihara Shuichi’. Take care to remember it.”
It’s said with a level of apathy that strikes a chord deep in the newly-named boy’s heart. The name feels as impersonal as a serial number.
It’s just a placeholder to keep track of him. Nothing more.
“You will be taken to new living quarters and given a week to adjust.” The scientist stands, the other staff in the room coming to the boy’s sides. “Congratulations, Saihara. You are living proof of what humanity can accomplish.”
And yet, Shuichi feels no pride. He’s no longer confused either, or panicked.
He feels…lost.

Shuichi, much like the many others here, is a part of the Kamukura Project. They are all prototypes for making a god.
Follow Shuichi as he navigates a life and talent apathetically gifted to him by his creators, traversing the original story of Danganronpa with a new twist, elements, and perspective.

“I actually met Kirigiri-san today,” Shuichi enthuses, opening one of the sudoku books and grabbing a pencil. “She’ll be working in the Future Foundation! How weird is that?”
Amami sputters. “Is Naegi Makoto in there?!”
“Probably,” Shuichi says breathlessly. He hadn’t even thought of that. “Wow.”
“Put in a good word for me.” Amami jokes.
“That’ll be hard,” Shuichi hums, writing a five in the cell. “Seeing as, you know, you’re technically kidnapping me. And uh…that’s illegal.”
“True,” Amami admits. “Oh well. Can’t say I didn’t try.”
“Maybe you could just take me back?” Shuichi suggests half-heartedly.
Amami flashes an apologetic smile in the review mirror. “No can do. Sorry, Saihara-kun.”
“That’s alright.” Shuichi sighs. “Worth a try.”
Saihara Shuichi works in the Future Foundation, 6th Division.
It’s really too bad he keeps getting kidnapped.
(This is a crack fic. There is barely plot, only comedy. I’m writing too many serious fics; I needed a laugh.)

Summary
“Silly Saihara-chan is always thinking sooo hard,” Kokichi snickers. “Don’t you know there’s always a reason to live?”
“Like what?”
Kokichi keeps his smile from dipping. It’s a fair question.
Without a proper answer, he turns to the comfort of lies.
“Like me!” Kokichi says cheerfully. “Live and die for me, right? I’m way too important to just die, so people gotta stay alive to make sure I stay alive. See? Tons of reasons.”
A broken laugh bubbles to Saihara’s lips through the pain. Kokichi smiles in response.
Being happy can make life worth living. But, well…sometimes, living so others can be happier is just as fulfilling.
It’s why Kokichi is still here, at least.
(Some are weaker than him. The broken body now in the building is proof.)
Enoshima Junko and the other Ultimate Despairs have destroyed the world. Ouma Kokichi is living in the post-apocalyse, along with other survivors.
DICE is dead. His home is gone. Kokichi has nothing but his talent and the people he’s met on the way.
With nothing else, Kokichi resorts to his only reason left to live: making others happy.

“No, uh…” Shuichi gazes blankly out the window. “I didn’t know we had Monokumas out here.”
“We don’t,” Maki deadpans as she turns a page, still reading a book on the couch. “Towa City is off the mainland; we don’t get Monokuma bots.”
“Well…” Shuichi gestures awkwardly to the window. “We do now.”
Kaito peers over the kitchen counter while Maki glances up from her book.
Outside, Monokumas are ravaging the landscape, overturning cars and attacking civilians.
“Well shit.” Kaito lets out a low whistle. “So much for breakfast.”

Shuichi, Maki, and Kaito live in Towa City. When the events of Ultimate Despair Girls happen, they’re more miffed than anything.
