Summary
In the critical moment after being confronted about his addiction and given his ultimatum, Dr. John Truman Carter III makes a different choice and refuses to go with Benton and get the help he desperately needs. This decision changes the future for both of them, and Benton is left picking up the pieces and longing to understand how it all went wrong.

Dennis peeked into Robby’s office slowly. He had moved the coffee table that usually sat next to the small green couch he kept. Instead sat a large metal table covered with a thin sheet of white paper. His desk was empty save for a metal tray with things that Dennis could not see at his low level.
Robby stood behind the metal table with a completely neutral expression on his face. He held a small golden bell in his hands.
“Well, hello there, puppy. Where's your master? Someone leave you here all to your lonesome?”
Or
Dennis has had a terrible, no good, very bad week, and is looking forward to a medical scene of his own choosing, when the stress of the PTMC bleeds into his and Robby's playtime.
