April 2025 - I have deleted "Stop the rain, turn the tide", my HP fic. The UK Supreme Court ruling about what a "woman" is, and Joanne's involvement were the straw that broke the camel's back. I saw a post about how everything, "even annoying fanfiction" supports her brand. Whilst I disagree VEHEMENTLY with the use of annoying - people read and write fanfiction for an array of reasons, and there was no need for the nastiness - I don't want to support her. That was just one person's opinion, I know, but it's only part of my reasoning. My heart isn't in it. I can obliterate canon, say my fics are safe spaces, condemn Joanne's shitty behaviour, but I'm not invested in the fandom anymore. I haven't ever supported her bullshit rhetoric, but like I said, straw that broke the camel's back. She's ruined it. Good and proper.
