Summary
Technoblade was having the time of his life. The lights were dim, the walls, ceilings, and floors were a uniform steely gray, and he was forced to beat the pulp out of aliens every little while on a completely unpredictable schedule. He hadn’t eaten enough in far too long, his circadian rhythm was totally wrecked, and he was riding the wake of a killer headache.
On the whole, though, not as bad as it could have been.Philza of the Perfodio-Creo flock was kidnapped by Sky, a Mimid who runs a coliseum where people watch sapient creatures fight each other for sport. Philza happens to have an entire crew of dubiously sane privateers eagerly trying to get him back. If they happen to pick up a stray deathworlder in the process, well, in Philza's defense, Techno flock-bonded with him first.

A small ball of snow hit Techno on the ear, startling him out of his thoughts. He turned and glared at Michael, who was grinning up at him with the self-assuredness of a child who knew that they were the favorite and that there was no way they could ever get in trouble, even if they burned down an orphanage.
“Bruh,” Techno deadpanned, shaking the snow out of his ear, which only caused it to fall under his cloak and onto his back. He shivered but quickly coughed to hide it, turning to Michael.
“So,” he chuffed, folding his arms across his chest and eyeing Michael up and down, “you want to hear the story of the great and glorious Antarctic Empire, do you?”

Not even to Phil, his oldest and most trusted friend, who found him as a teen and had been the one to pull him out of hell and into a world of grass and sky and life. It was something that came from deep in his childhood, a memory from the bellows of a bastion, buried far down with the tune of a red disc and an uncanny attachment to things that glimmered. It was something that Techno never allowed to see the light of day, if he could help it— instincts and memories from back then were always met by him with disdain and a burning need to move on and stay in the now.
Today it reaches the surface, during a regular visit to Snowchester, when a child starts crying from upstairs.

In the dim lantern light, Phil could see the contents of the bucket now. It was purple and nearly iridescent. Phil’s stomach dropped. “Ranboo?” He said, ducking his head down to get a look at the kid’s face. The same purple liquid dripped from his mouth. Tears burned streaks down his cheeks. “Ranboo, is this blood?”
He almost didn’t want to know the answer. He knew Ranboo was half enderman, and that his blood wasn’t red like human’s blood. After doomsday when he’d found Ranboo in the rubble, the kid had a few cuts and scrapes, nothing major, but he had noted that his blood was a dark purple color. He hadn’t dwelled on it much. Now, it mattered.
“Ranboo,” Phil said, more firmly now. “Is this blood? Are you throwing up blood?”

Techno slammed his fists against the transparent wall of his prison, trying his best to break it down. His captors backed up, whistling anxiously to each other.
He gave the barrier another loud crack, delightedly watching as they scrambled away in abject terror.
Nodding in satisfaction, he turned around to meet the eyes of two other prisoners that had been thrown into his cell.
He froze.
Right.
There were now aliens in his cell.
And he probably just scared the hell out of them.
Or: Humans are a dangerous race feared by all on an intergalactic scale. Techno, a human ex-soldier that was abducted by aliens 18 months ago, is biding his time in captivity.
This changes when two young aliens are sent into his cell to die.
