So fucking stupid, treating this thing like it was anything but a sadistic murderer that held our lives in its hands had become almost second nature otherwise it was nearly impossible to function but then I did stupid shit like this. “Say ‘Thank you, Daddy.’” It growled in my ear, breath warm, smelling like whiskey.
“You can’t be serious.” Its grip was immovable.
“You’ll find I’m quite serious.” A timer appeared in the corner of my vision.

He went to get Jon, too paranoid from his Prentiss experience to just pick the thing up. Jon was reluctant to leave his work, but he followed Martin back to his desk. He walked over to investigate, and as he did, the carvings on the item flashed with blue light, just for a second. It was over quickly enough that Martin thought he might have imagined the whole thing."
Martin and Jon get stuck in a time loop together and have to figure out how to free themselves.

(The blood goes all the way around, like it’s not only from Driver’s injury. Lars pretends not to notice.) It’s ripped, next to the zipper, from the knife that was in his stomach. Lars doesn’t think Driver should wear a bloody jacket.
Driver shakes his head, eyeing Lars warily.
Well. That’s okay. Lars doesn’t like when people take his blanket, either.

Grace is glum in the midst of waiting for Taumoeba-06 to evolve (any day now), burdened by loneliness and touch-starvation. Attentive Rocky notices this in Grace's demeanor and checks in on him. Grace confesses how much he misses physical contact and surprisingly discovers the feeling is mutual.
Rocky engineers a solution. Something that will drastically change the course of their relationship.
Or
Rocky engineers a method for him and Grace to hug. This escalates to Rocky pleasuring Grace, a misunderstood confession of love (language barrier), regular physical contact (among other things), and reaching a mutual understanding of what their relationship means.
