This is a truthful story, for the most part. In the sense that it’s a story where I’ve endeavoured to tell you some truth: to be candid to you, and to myself, on some level. Of course, some details might be garbled, might very well be made up. This is a legend, after all. And legends aren’t exactly known for their factual veracity.
For all I know, the princess of this story might be an apocryphal princess: another fiction to feature, rather senselessly, among uncountably many fictions. For all I know, she might be wandering by your side, still drifting, still searching, still unmoored in all her myriad lives.
Because listen: in this story, Princess Zelda briefly broke free from time.

This is easily one of the best angst to comfort stories written. Crepe's prose is absolutely incredible. There won't be a dry eye in the theatre if it were a movie.

Zelda knew coming back from Uni and stepping into her Princess role full time was going to be a tough adjustment. To keep her ailing father out of the gossip papers Zelda becomes a party girl in order to gain the attention of the Great Fairy Gossipmonger. It'll be easy to lose her guards, act up, while going on her official Tour of Hyrule, until Link is appointed to head her security detail.
The very same one she had hooked up with a hundred days ago.

Someone with a brand like his had no business getting so attached to a nice girl like her. Even if her eyes were the color of the Grasslands in spring, and her laughter was like summer wind, and her touch on his bare shoulder made him see fairylights. He remembered with remorse the first time he saw her on the wharf, tossing crumbs onto the rolling sea for the gulls, and how his head had snapped her way a second time, eyes too wide. Remorse, and a bit of a smile.

Summary
The Thirteenth Brother is an animal made of hate. He is the perfect hound, a ruthlessly efficient Inquisitor who hunts without a shred of remorse or doubt, his conviction unshakeable, his record flawless; Not a single Force sensitive has ever escaped his clutches.
When intel brings word of a Force sensitive girl cowering in a tiny logging camp on Hades VI, it's a job like any other: Find the target, and put it down. It's what he's made for, and all that he knows. What he doesn't know is that the girl on on Hades VI isn't just any Force sensitive: She's a ghost from his past, a time before the darkness remade him.
A single moment of hesitation is all it takes for the girl to lash out blindly, desperately, with power she can't control. His mind rends, everything hateful within it snatched up and torn free by a desperate creature, thrashing in the clutches of the monster that has her by the throat.
The Thirteenth Brother is gone, and Link is the husk that's left in the absence of hate.

Link didn’t say anything, waiting for her to continue.

Link nodded.
Zelda suddenly felt too warm, and she decided to shuffle over to her desk, which was a good distance from Link, and dig around for a piece of paper and a quill. “It’ll be good for us to write it out,” she said, more for herself than for Link, who sat on the other side of her desk expectantly.
Why did he look like he was waiting to get marching orders? Like he might have been almost eager for it?
She focused on writing out the first rule. “Rule number one, no one can know.” She penned the words carefully. “We have to look genuinely head over heels for each other.”
