Dazai looks nervous, and Chuuya can’t crack why. He definitely looks wrong, though, like he’s about to jump out of his skin.
Which does happen when something makes a particularly loud noise outside. Dazai’s head whips in that direction, his whole body tenses, and he clutches the plushie in his arms like letting it go would mean sudden death.
“You’re scared,” Chuuya realizes. “You’re scared of this, why didn’t you tell me?”
/or: dazai is scared of sleeping in the woods so chuuya cuddles him to sleep

"Is that the reason you're avoiding intimacy with me?" Chuuya asked hesitantly as to not risk upsetting him further.
"Sex hurts." Dazai said at a volume barely above a whisper. It took a minute for Chuuya to process what he said.
When Dazai's words sunk in, Chuuya swore he felt his heart shatter like a plate being dropped on the ground. Surely Dazai was trying to be funny, right? "Sex...hurts?"
"Is it not supposed to?"
The fact that a genius like Dazai didn't know that sex was supposed to feel pleasurable made Chuuya really start to wonder what all he didn't know about his past. What happened to him in the mafia that Chuuya didn't know about?
"No, it's not supposed to hurt. I mean it can be painful at first sometimes but it's supposed to make your body feel good. Like...when you masturbate."
"To be honest I don't really...do that." Dazai admitted, no longer sounding like he was about to cry. Instead he sounded like he was embarrassed.

"No, I'm saying you're an idiot who got himself sick because he refuses to leave that fuckass container even when it's -15 degrees outside." Chuuya snapped, ignoring Dazai's petulant expression.
"Chuuya's being a silly puppy! It's always warmer outside when it's snowing here", Dazai said, his head swaying and falling back against the armrest. He gave Chuuya a loopy smile again, still stupid, still weirdly off. "It's probably like -3"

Chuuya comes flying out of the window after him, landing on his feet a few feet away and indenting the ground. Dazai opens his mouth to tease the other for being worried enough to fly out of the same window to come check on him in such a hurry – but his words die in his throat.
Chuuya’s eyes are now inflicted with the magenta haze that all the other mind controlled people have in the building. He quickly returns his hand to activate and radio through his earpiece again.
“Atsushi, Akutagawa – Chuuya’s gone magenta too. I’m about to be down. Try the third floor for the ability user.” He says quickly, knowing he’s about to be taken out.
OR
After Chuuya gets mind controlled on a joint mission with the ADA and PM, Dazai is sent to the brink of death.

Dazai doesn't slow down, he doesn't think. He runs and pushes the door so hard that it shakes on its hinges.

After Mori Ougai discovers Chuuya Nakahara and Dazai Osamu's nightly rendezvous, he decides Chuuya is worth more dead than alive and gives him his dismissal letter in the form of a poisoned wine bottle. It's up to Dazai to arrive in time and save him, just as it's up to Chuuya to choose himself for once (or not). It's up to both of them to realize how much they're willing to give for each other after all.
