I understand your concern, but I don’t think we have anything to worry about here. As a hoax, or a prank, or dark satire or whatever, the video is pretty effective, and I can see why you’ve reacted so strongly. But I think it’s a mistake to take this thing at face value. Simply put - the idea that Howell would post it, if it were genuine, is nuts.

“I don’t know,” Jon runs his free hand through his messy curls. When had his hair gotten so long? “It just popped into my head like a passing thought, like something I heard somewhere once. We haven’t known each other that long, Martin, I’m sure I just mixed you up with someone else at the Institute.”
“Like a memory?” Martin asks, quietly.
“Sure,” Jon says. “Like a memory.”

Love is a tangible thing. It has weight. It has substance. You can measure it on a scale, store it in jars, observe the ways it twists and grows and over-splits its boundaries. When a body holds so much love—love without an outlet—it naturally spills over. Seeks the sunlight. Jon’s body is so small, (and now it looks smaller than ever, frail and sunken in the nest of pale blue pillows) it’s no wonder that his love came overflowing.
The only wonder is that it came for Martin.
Martin has never been able to grow flowers, but when Jon starts coughing up dog roses for him, he can't bear to let him suffer alone.

Feuilly moves to a new city to start over. He plans to keep his head down this time, to work an 8 to 5 job and keep to himself and settle for getting by. His hopes are modest, reasonable: He hopes to keep up on his loan payments, to get along with his coworkers, to get through another Christmas alone.
He doesn't plan on getting sucked into a group of literacy activists who care way too much, on getting involved in trying to fix the world again, on stumbling into people who actually seem to care about him. He doesn't plan on being happy.
