“It’s called line dancing because everyone’s doing the same movement in lines or rows,” Eli explained. “It’s just the same series repeated every four or eight bars, depending on the song. And at each repeat, they rotate ninety degrees and do it again. Eventually, they’ll make their way back around.”
“I see,” Thrawn noted.
The song changed and Eli’s eyes widened, eagerly slurping up the rest of his drink and leaving the glass on a ledge as he grabbed the sleeve of Thrawn’s jacket. “This is a great one to start with – it's super straightforward and the song is really popular, they’ll probably play it again even tonight. C’mon!”

Caleb leaned forward, but Essek put a finger on Caleb’s lips before they made contact with his. “Try again.”
Caleb’s eyes, half lidded as he had leaned towards Essek, shot open. His brow wrinkled in confusion at first, before raising an eyebrow. “Really? Now?”
Essek smiled back, moving his forefinger and replacing it with his thumb to swipe over the moisture of Caleb’s lips. He gave a considering hum as he watched Caleb’s tongue dart out to meet it subconsciously. “You can earn some kisses when you learn to conjugate correctly. Try again,” he said with feigned impassivity.

There was nothing he needed to say to the hobbit at the end of his journey, and yet from the moment he’d left, Thorin pondered him fiercely, desired to see him well and happy again as though the hobbit had stolen his own personage and taken it all the way back to the Shire, under Thorin’s nose itself.
