Because everyone I love is dead, she thought. Because I was ruined by my husband, even if he never truly touched me, and before him, Joffrey. The Lannisters had tainted her. When Willas saw the scars on her back from the Kingsguard’s beatings, when he realized she’d been in bed with a man before, even a man who hadn’t taken her maidenhead- he would be disgusted.

Summary
Frustrated with the War of the Five Kings, Domeric Bolton deserts the Northern army and rescues Sansa Stark from King’s Landing.
Part war story, part chivalric romance, part tragic irony, major Cerebus Syndrome. A look at the weight of curses and at Roose Bolton as a husband and a father. A darkfic with a light at the end of the tunnel, partly inspired by Dante Alighieri’s La Vita Nuova.
This mostly follows book canon until midway through ASOS, but I have used the ages from the show. Fun fact, if you play the Game of Thrones CK2 mod and start at Robert’s Rebellion, take a look at Roose’s court and you’ll find Domeric, a poet from the tender age of four.
I deleted this in 2023 and I am sorry. Reposting with some minor revisions to the content and author's notes.

The Houses of Bolton and Stark share a bloody history. Twice have the Boltons rebelled against the Starks, and twice have they been forced to bend the knee. The Lord of the Dreadfort, Roose Bolton decides a different tactic to strengthen his house under the Warden of the North. He offers his trueborn son and heir, Domeric Bolton as a ward to House Stark.
Starts two years before Robert arrives to Winterfell and will lead up to the end of the events of the first book: Game of Thrones.
Story is complete.
The sequel is up and it is tentatively titled: Our Blades Are Sharp 2: The Red Reign.
