On the heels of one of the worst scandals of his acting career, Astarion Ancunin is saved by an unlikely hero: his driver.

The Driver hefted a set of black, leather gloves from atop his legs. His fingers were long and tanned. Astarion couldn’t help but watch as he donned them, giving the tight fabric a flex until the leather stretched over his knuckles. Then he tilted his head to the left, touching an ear to each of his shoulders, before pushing out his chest. His fitted suit strained against the motion, and Astarion heard a few joints pop.
“Do you happen to have your seatbelt on, sir?” the driver asked.
Astarion’s mouth, for some reason, watered.

Sleep. Humans required sleep… and Gale was beginning to resent that simple fact.
Elves tranced. Half-elves followed suit in lesser measure. Githyanki required little more than a meditative stillness, rigid as a drawn blade even in rest. Tieflings—well, Karlach seemed to run on something that wasn’t sleep at all, something infernal and relentless, a furnace that did not dim. Even Wyll, although still human by birth, had that infernal pact and demonic blood flowing through him, letting him push beyond reasonable limits. Regardless, they could all operate on far less than Gale knew, in the marrow of his bones, that he needed. He had always needed more, and he was painfully ashamed of it.
Gale, as a human, needs more sleep than the other party members. He chooses to ignore this fact because he doesn't want to slow them down. His body, however, can't keep pushing forever.

“I am thinking of you,” coo the sprigs of blooming blue sage, dotting and illuminating the spray of flowers like a shower of shooting stars.
“I desire you passionately,” whisper the blood-red orchids, the undisputed queens of this floral arrangement.
A smile lights up Gale’s face, and his eyes drift from the flowers to rest on Astarion, who looks back at him with hope, and kind of feels like he’s going to be sick because of the stress.
“Ah, an unsold bouquet? How very curious—it’s absolutely magnificent.”

Three times Astarion tries to confess his feelings through beautiful flower bouquets, and the one time Gale finally understands that the flowers—and the florist—are meant for him.

Summary
Overwhelmed with the number of godstruck Tadfools in the party, Vera (Tav) tasks Astarion with blowing up Gale's Mystra obsession before it inevitably ends up biting them all in the ass. She secretly wouldn't mind if they'd maybe bone or something. Astarion discovers Mystra fiddled Gale's memories before she ever fiddled Gale's bits and gets super aggro about that.
This is a story about reclaiming your own narrative when someone else has rewritten your past and finding a love that celebrates who you truly are. And lots of boning.
Canon Compliance: Happens during canon (although entirely at camp and through journal entries; not really a playthrough fic), but takes a sharp left once Astarion's discoveries are revealed. Plausible if this information were discoverable in game, but YMMW (see notes for spoilery lore details).
Smut is very prevalent throughout, extra plot relevant (even compared to my usual) and unskippable. Check the tags and make your own decisions.

“I… call it Portentus Castificare. An omen of punishment,” Gale says, eyes on his hands where they rest in his lap.
“Is it that bad?” Astarion cajoles, hoping to earn another smile somehow or other.
“It’s certainly… monstrous. And the hunger, when its yawning void opens within me, is… almost insatiable. And quite painful. This… this body, what you’ve come to recognize as me… it’s a facsimile of the man I was before, as best as I could recreate it. But I died that day, I think. It absorbed me just as I absorbed it,” Gale does smile, but it’s a sad one.

Gale's head did a quick tilt of curiosity as he looked over the rim of his glasses at the grand bouquet that had been delivered. It was bursting with flora—carnations, gladiolas, lisianthis, statice, hydrangeas, larkspur, and delphinium—all in varying shades of purple. It was beautiful as it sat, perfectly fanned out at all angles, in the clear vase it arrived in.
His finger ran over the delicate petal of one of the hydrangeas. "Why send a bouquet to a florist shop?"
A snort came behind him as his friend, Jen, worked on an arrangement for an upcoming wedding. He turned to see her blowing her blunt black bangs up from where forehead.
"Maybe this mystery person is running out of ideas," she said as she snipped the end off a rose.
Gale grunted in response and responded with only one word. "Perhaps."
A sigh escaped him as one hand fell on his hip and the other scratched at his beard. It truly was a perplexing situation.
