Clark, if it was anyone else, might have backed down at that, found the innocent quip about money offensive, but truthfully, he hadn’t, and he still needed something he could sell to his boss, so he slipped his hands down to Bruce’s, tugged him forward so he fell and had to catch himself on the table behind him, and whispered back, “have you ever ridden a man taller than you?”
