“Valentine,” he says, mind racing as he tries to place this young man and the mental Rolodex ultimately comes up blank. “Nick Valentine. I own the detective agency behind the marketplace.” He pauses and offers an apologetic quirk of his brows as well as his hand. “Not a good first impression for someone in my line of work, I know, but I haven’t the foggiest who you are either.”
The kid smiles back at him, the expression seeming more common on his face than not, and slots his hand in against Nick’s. It’s warm and firm in his own and he waits for Nick to let go first after the shake. “John. McDonough, if we’re gettin’ all formal here.”

This seems to stun Hancock. The ghoul’s mouth falls open just a fraction before he catches himself, but Danse noticed. It makes him feel even worse that he can’t even remember the last time he apologised to anyone who wasn’t Maxson.
“I’ve been awful to you. I shouldn’t have come here, I should’ve tried to get to Sanctuary or-" Or stayed on the damn Prydwen and let the Elder put a bullet between my eyes, Danse thinks.
A storm hits Goodneighbor, and brings all kinds scuttling out of the woodwork.

A lazy grin drifts across Hancock’s face at that. “So that’s why you dragged me in here. ‘Cause you’re afraid I’ll go blabbing to your higher-ups,” he says slowly. Danse’s hands clench into fists at his sides, a red flush creeping slowly up from his collarbone to his jaw. He looks delectable even here, in the shadowy room he probably thinks of as home, flight suit unzipped to halfway down his chest to reveal a thatch of hair there.
"You wouldn't dare."
Hancock dares to set foot on the Prydwen, much to Danse's dissatisfaction. Angry, then not-so-angry, sex ensues.

Not after what you’re probably used to.” And then it clicks, how Valentine is probably imagining Danse’s jumpsuit stretched tight over his pectorals, the wind ruffling his dark hair, those brown eyes narrowed in concentration or disgust.
“Nicky…” Hancock breathes, and it’s enough, somehow. Nick draws him closer by his coat lapels and then they’re kissing again, soft and slow.
Hancock needs some help getting over Danse. Luckily Nick is there to cheer him up, even if it's not that simple.
