Summary
Mo Ran had never been one for rules, and A-Ning had noticed as such during the years of having the man as his Shizun. He'd allowed A-Ning to be casual with him, instructed him as if he were a father or an elder brother to A-Ning instead of a teacher.
Mo Ran was laid back with all of his disciples, however it seemed to be on another level with A-Ning. He'd even tried to convince A-Ning to call him "gege" instead of "Shizun" at one point, which A-Ning had to shut down very quickly despite how much he would have enjoyed the arrangement.
Perhaps that was why A-Ning was so scared when Mo Ran whispered the words "Who are you to deny your Shizun?" into his ear.
