"No, it's fine," Julian said automatically. "But, Garak, is everything all right?"
"Captain Sisko wanted to see me," Garak said—which was so conspicuous a refusal to answer the question Julian had asked that it almost didn't qualify as an evasion. He pulled out the chair opposite Julian, and sat.
"Captain Sisko? Why?"
"Well, apparently," Garak said, "Cardassia has lodged a formal request with the Federation for my extradition."
(Or: Garak has a problem. Julian marries him to fix it. Except that means Julian also has a problem, albeit of a very different kind.)

The one where they leave Cardassia and wind up on a quirky starship.

Summary
After Jim's (very) near death experience, Spock finds himself exponentially more aware of Jim's consciousness, even when they aren't in physical contact. But he doesn't need to bother a recovering Jim with that knowledge, especially since they've been spending so much time together lately. Nothing could possibly go wrong.

Summary
The one night stand Jim Kirk has with the Vulcan passing through Riverside is a welcome break from the monotony. It's good, very good, but so fucking weird Jim's sure he's never gonna forget it. He's not quite expecting to run into Spock again in San Francisco. A second one night stand turns into a weekend, turns into a lot of weekends, turns into Bones joking that he's living half his week at Spock's apartment.
But! But, and this is very important: they're not dating.
What also turns out to be important is Spock's job, which Jim never bothered getting the details of. Starfleet Officer and a bartender-slash-bouncer? That's fine. Starfleet Academy Instructor and cadet? ...Less fine.

“So let me get this straight,” said Bones, “you’re going on a date with a Vulcan you’ve never met, but he’s also your best friend?”
"It's not a date!" Jim insisted.
