Dick sips his Mr.Freeze-shake slowly as Jason, still sniffling, eats his fries next to him in the shit-ly lit Batburger on the corner of Bristol and the Dimond district. Dick cups his hands and starts to cry softly. Jason hands him a fry. Dick only begins to sob harder.
Dick hears a boom and turns to look at his tolled car exploding in a bunch of fiery pieces. His JBL speaker landed a few feet away from them at the Batburger windows.
OR, Bruce adopts a new kid and no one is a functioning adult

Aether looked up to Kaeya’s concerned and scared eye. Brushing away his hair and moving his eyepatch so he can see both eyes clearly. Kaeya’s eye was beautiful. White eyelashes, and a solid black eye. There was no white, just a solid black void. Easily mistakable for part of the night if there wasn’t the moon. He pulled the taller man in, shock clearly in his eyes, gently in for a kiss. It wasn’t anything extra or special, but just a kiss.

"Oh my god," Jason groaned to himself, instantly turning and walking over to the hole leading out, preparing his grapple so he could leave. He did not have time for this.

Having use of the All-Blades means Jason's pretty used to being the most qualified person in Gotham to deal with supernatural issues. Why Dick's randomly started trying to help he has no fucking clue.

Summary
Jason wakes up in the League of Assassins and meets a 10-year-old with zero social skills. He is then forced to take this child to "work" in Gotham.
OR
Jason dies, gets revived, is thrown into a Lazarus Pit, and meets Damian, the mini, more annoying version of Bruce. After a while of living in the league, he is shoved in a helicopter with the kid. Once they reach Gotham, they gradually start to get along, even if it occasionally requires some deal-making and bargaining to keep the peace. Jason finally gets his partner in crime/emotional support murder-child he didn't know he needed.

“No,” Damian Wayne says, kneeling before Jason’s kennel. “I want this one.”
Jason encounters a villain who turns people into animals.
Damian, meanwhile, adopts a dog.

Summary
When Jason died, Bruce immortalized on paper what grief refused to let him utter out loud, lest his loss become final and his defeat become permanent
Years later, a revived Jason would find those books and slowly piece together the shattered fragments of who his father was before he lost him, while reckoning with the fact that he was loved in every right way (and it had not saved him... and perhaps, it was never meant to)
And Bruce now has to reflect whether or not his inability to reconcile with uncontrollable changes in his son is brought upon by strategic bitterness or fear (or both, if god would allow it)
Because ultimately, there is no version of their family's story where one is totally in the right or wrong. There is only love; ugly, misguided, but honest, true love between people who are doing the very best they could.
