Summary
His heart nearly stopped when she spoke his name in such a hushed, revered tone. He had imagined her speaking to him this way countless times over his unnaturally long lifetime, and still he had not done her justice, aglow in the warm light, eyes half-mast as she gazed at him with something like love, it was beyond fantasy -
“Thancred,” she said suddenly, and the illusion was shattered, like Emet-Selch’s gun had cut through their moment yet again. Except this time it was not a gun, but a gunblade.
“...Thancred?” he questioned, chest tightening painfully. She was still thinking of him?
Takes place around 5.1, no EW spoilers, major SHB spoilers ofc (Rated for some minor violence/gore, alcohol, pining etc)

Summary
There had been moments, before—spanning all the way back to carefree summer days on the shores of Silvertear—when he’d felt as though they were standing at opposite ends of a precipice.
So much had been left unsaid between them. But with the First saved and the two of them home at last, they get their chance.

Summary
“Or - what say that we bide our time another way?”
He sees him quirk a brow. Cautious. Helplessly intrigued in spite of himself. “What would you propose then?”
He paces a moment. One step. Two, back and forth. For a moment he wonders if Cid might give him an earful for the idea - and then he wonders if he cares.
A pause in his movement, and then he holds out a hand for G’raha to take.
“Do you trust me?”
A study in how to pass the time with a friend.Bookmarked by RooplesPooples

Summary
He’s always done this, been so quick to find the most reassuring words, make her feel their future is infinite. It’s almost frustrating, how he calms her so effortlessly. She thinks back to her time in his arms in the First, how just his touch placated her like nothing else as horror loomed on her horizon, even before she knew she loved him.
She forgives him his uncanny ability to play her emotions as lute strings if it means a lifetime of feeling loved like this.
Making good on promises hasn't gone as planned.
