Although this story is set in the reboot universe, it's at least as much about the TOS characters as about the AOS ones; it's set in the reboot universe because Spock Prime was the right speaker for this little tale.

This story actually started and evolved from this anonymous writing prompt on tumblr: "Old Married Spirk where Jim teaches classes at Starfleet and Spock is an ambassador. Spock goes to visit Jim in his office and finds a student with a bit of a teacher kink being a bit too forward with Jim. Spock finds a streak of possessiveness he didn't know he had."

Spock was nearly forced by the Platonians to be the one thing he had sworn he would never again be--an instrument of harm to his captain. Soon after, Spock thought the captain was dead, trapped forever between dimensions as the Tholians closed in on the Enterprise, because of Spock's error in calculations. These events aren't as easy to get over as Spock pretends, but he should have known that he can't hide from his captain.
