Pitiful comforts in the face of such all-consuming agony. Armand was holding one of Louis’ hands tightly in both his own, speaking to him softly. When Lestat opened the door, Louis immediately stood.
Then he fell to his knees, because all it took was one look at Lestat’s face, and he knew.
