The only real problem is how dependent Brian actually is on what Justin gives him and makes him feel. His trauma-ridden self has found a piece of home in a feeling he never thought he could possibly survive and he knows it's not the same for Justin. He has a support system, normal and sane, nothing like Brian's default relationships brewed in codependency and possessiveness, in constant fear of being left alone again.
