В этой истории Дик еще «зелёный», он только недавно покинул Бэтмена и теперь защищает Бладхейвен под именем Найтвинг. Здесь ему примерно 19 лет. Дефстроук обращается к нему «мальчик», но лишь потому, что для него все, кто значительно младше, по определению воспринимаются «детьми». Хотя в некоторых ситуациях восприятие Дика и правда еще совсем незрелое, как у ребенка, который только покинул родительский дом в поисках вольной жизни. Слэйду здесь лет 40, наверное.

Peter wakes in a hole in the ground of a house. Next to him is a man of approximately his age, eyes burning Alpha red, who smells exactly like his 15-year-old nephew. They seem to be in a house that smells like burnt wood and ashes which looks oddly like his childhood home. A young girl with fiery hair and terrified eyes cowers in the corner of the room while looking at him like he is going to gut her. There’s also a mirror reflecting the light of the moon on him above him.
‘Ah, the worm moon ritual, that means I must have died then…’
He gets out of the obvious makeshift grave, then crouches down to the young man’s level.
“Can you stand? I realize that the ritual takes its toll on energy, but since you went through the trouble of resurrecting me, I would like to know who you are, and why you smell like my nephew?”
