Summary
It's almost 8 years since The Battle of Hogwarts and Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy are married... to other people. Having both pushed the trauma of the wizarding war behind them, they are both looking to rebuild their lives and create new legacies. Hermione is steadily climbing the ranks of the Ministry of Magic under Kinglsey Shacklebolt while Draco Malfoy, in need of a chance to redeem his spirit and name, takes a job in the Shacklebolt administration.
Working closely together, Draco and Hermione create a bond they never knew they needed. Both of them are in loveless marriages with people who don't meet their emotional, physical, or intellectual needs and slowly, they realize they can't fight the magnetic force that keeps pulling them together.

His eyes drop to her mouth, and his thumb reaches out to trace her bottom lip.“What would you do,” Astarion asks, voice a low whisper, “if I kissed you right now?”
June may have realized she sees him as a friend, but that doesn’t stop her from playing his game. She doesn’t think he hates her anymore, but she doesn’t think he’s actually interested in her, either.
So she smiles, expecting that he’ll back down when she calls his bluff. He’s never followed through before, after all. Why should now be any different?
“Why don’t you find out?” she asks.
* * *Between the nightmares, prophetic visions, and violent hallucinations, June is losing grip on reality, but she has enough awareness to know that Astarion's flirtation is part of some sort of con. He barely even likes her, after all. When she decides to call his bluff and play along, thinking he'll back down, she's surprised to discover that she and the vampire have more in common than either could have anticipated. And his touch might be the only thing that can keep her sane.

Summary
Part Two! Following the events of Act 1 (The Cost of Living), we get a lot more Tav backstory and venture to Rosymorn Monastery to seek healing at the Githyanki Creche. There is a short three chapter prequel (Only Just Beginning) in the series as well.
“Gods, how are we not there yet?” Astarion put a voice to Tav’s own thoughts. “My feet are killing me.”
“Awww,” Karlach’s fake sympathy brought a grin to everyone’s face. “Want me to carry you?”
Could that actually happen? They had a potion of fire resistance somewhere, Tav was sure of it. She would pay a hefty sum in gold to see Karlach carry Astarion.
