Summary

She can't eat, can't sleep, and hiding it from Mulder is only growing more difficult as the days pass. Finally, she breaks, and the only comfort she can get is from him. Scully, navigating the turbulence of healing, journeys through the realisation that to be supported by Mulder, she must forsake her fears of being seen as someone to be saved—to allow herself to be vulnerable where it is safe to be. In this, Scully asks herself: How can she emerge from this darkness, how will this change the dynamic between her and her partner, and what will become of them?

I am such a sucker for the idea of old lovers and also of jealous Mulder and Scully. Written for an exchange, this fic had me on the edge of my seat, tearing up every now and then as Scully drove herself mad trying to see who it was that Mulder was with. Very, very good read.
