Summary
"You've grown," is the first thing out of Vermouth's mouth when she lays eyes on KID. He stands atop the emergency fire exit, upon which she also sits, cape flying in the wind as he glows with the moonlight, all but highlighting the truth of her words. The last time she had seen Kaito, to be fair, he had only been about hip height, with unsteady feet and bug-like eyes. The Kaito -Kaitou- before her was none of those things.
"Neechan," KID replies back with a grin but very little warmth. He's grown in that department then too; she's almost proud. "Or, Meitantei-kun said it's Vermouth these days, didn't he?"
Or: Kaito met Sharon Vineyard a decade ago when she was teaching under Toichi. Now, they meet again as Kaitou Kid and Vermouth.

Summary
On that fateful day, on what was supposed to be a celebration for Kaito's birthday, Kuroba Toichi and his wife both die in what the police called a tragic accident, but what Nakamori Ginzo called murder.
