“I don’t understand,” he says, and his arms are wrapped around himself now, as if he is cold. They are in Hebra, yes, but he can’t help but feel as if the cold has nothing to do with how he is beginning to shiver.
“What do you mean you don’t understand?” Revali demands, turning back to him, his glare even deeper on his face than before. “I’ve expressed myself clearly to you many times before - it is no fault of mine that you see yourself as better than I simply because of the sword on your back. Surely you cannot blame me for cutting my losses here - I’ve wasted enough time on you as it is.”
“I-I don’t understand,” Link repeats, because for once, he truly doesn’t know how it was that he didn’t please this individual. He thought he understood, before, but Revali has grown more and more upset, and Link simply does not understand what he has done wrong to cause this.
He wants to fix this.
It is the first time in his life he can ever truly remember wanting something.
It is as his vision begins to blur (he doesn't know why) that Revali’s expression shifts.

Summary
Wild wasn't used to so much company. He had a good group of friends and companions back home, and of course, the love of his life, Zelda. But he travelled alone for a reason, and now that he wasn't, he could feel some of his old bad habits coming back. It didn't help that he seemed to be so different from the rest of his new allies.
And he really misses Zelda.A Wild meets The Chain fic, exploring what happens when you take someone way out of their comfort zone. A slow moving story with plenty of trauma, a very confused Wild, and a healthy dose of headcanons.

It was a normal day for Link. He made breakfast for Ravio, took care of his garden, and tried his best to keep up the charade of no, I am not the prince Link, I am a villager who looks just like him and is also named Link. Ignore the monster blood dripping off my sword, please and thank you.
His day only became un-normal when, while on his daily walk (which is what he called his scouting trip as not to worry Ravio), came across a mysterious object, and like the hoarder he was, picked it up. That was his first mistake. His second mistake was realizing that he had indeed left his moon pearl at home (his frantic searching of his scantily-packed pouch produced nothing. It wasn't even somewhere hidden in the little pockets on the inside of his vest) and was now stuck as a defenseless fluffy pink bunny until he could go home and get it back.
