“You could not ban an interloper,” Gem suggested. “I mean, I’m-- I’m a cool person, I have skills.”
Grian narrowed his black eyes at her. Gem wished she could be less aware of his shadow and the ridiculous aura around him, that hint of take a step back that most public server admins wielded as more of a uniform than anything, but she couldn’t stop feeling her skin crawl.
She could feel the code access, if she focused on it. The server-level shifts that’d set her to adventure mode, and whatever had forcibly emptied her inventory on arrival so she didn’t have a single keepsake, so she didn’t even have her sweater.
Grian must’ve done that remotely, as soon as he learned she’d shown up.

Grian blinked, once, twice, then a third time. Still, the shape on the horizon didn’t fade. The light didn’t fade. The music didn’t fade. This wasn’t the blurry shadow of what may or may not be a rock, or the light of the moon against a wave imitating a town. This was a genuine miracle. This was his relief.

For a moment, Scar thought he saw Grian’s gaze dip again, but with distance between them, and the glare from a lamp on the other man’s glasses, he couldn’t be entirely sure. It made his heart squeeze all the same.
Grian straightened, huffing, “No.”
Scar hesitated. “Are you sure?”
“Positive,” Grian said. He leaned into the couch cushions, his countenance changing with the wave of a hand. His face relaxed, his legs crossed in front of him, and a wide smile split his lips. “You’ll pay for what you’ve done in due time.”

Grian raised a brow. “Is something the matter?”
At the sound of his voice, a small change crossed Scar’s face. He relaxed a bit, mouth pulling into a polite smile. “Well, if a good kisser is all you need,” Scar said. “I’ve never gotten any complaints.”

Scar could be the poster child for trouble, though usually it doesn't mean coming face to face with a deity, “Well, last I checked, Watchers cannot die.” and getting stuck on their island, " Even with your boat, you cannot leave my island." But at least he's used to getting himself out of it.

Summary
"Grian, what are these?"
Weakness, he tries to rasp; it comes out garbled, so he sucks in a long, slow breath and tries again, lungs trembling with the effort. "Weak– weakness."
Scar drops the bottle like it's burned him. "You took three weakness potions?" he chokes out, and that seems to break whatever trance Xisuma, Pearl, and Tango have been in this entire time. They rush forward, eating the distance between them in rapid strides, until they're all crouched around Grian.
Grian shuts his eyes again, before remembering he isn't supposed to do that. He wants to say sorry. What he says instead, is: "It was– safer. Like this. For you."
It amounts to about the same thing.
Or, I finally buckle down and post the rough draft of hunger au, where I give Grian every mental illness known to man and also a few new ones. Please heed the tags.

Summary
They were so close. Just a few more wing beats, and they'd finally be free of the End, of the cold, bleak prison.
The light shined on their mask, a gentle lull teasing at them from the tear in reality. A roar reached their ears; the Watchers were after them.
A broken thought pushed it's way through the stuffing plaguing their mind, the impulse to run. They beat their wings harder, anxiety and anticipation fueling them. It wasn't enough.
"Ϟᒣᒍi! ▭ ∷⚍リリ╎リ┤․⎽ ▭ ̇/ᒷ|:ᑑ⚍ᖋ." Stop running, Xelqua.
Faster. They had to be faster. The Watchers were catching up. They— They were right there—
An inhuman screech erupted out of what was left of the creature's voice box as claws tore through a limb, something towards their rear end. They didn't know which one. It didn't matter. The Watchers behind them didn't matter. They just had to keep going.

Summary
Mumbo is a trainee Raptor Keeper at Jurassic World. Pesk is the newest raptor in the exhibit who really lives up to his name.
For some reason, Mumbo has been given primary responsibility for Pesk. Pesk doesn’t want to co-operate. At least at first…
But there’s something unusual about Pesk, Mumbo notices. He’s intelligent, even by raptor standards, and sometimes there’s a look in his eyes or a tension in his body language that hints at a past that Mumbo can’t quite fathom.

After a traumatic transformation into a Watcher, Grian had to scrape together a player body of his own creation. He's gotten used to being a player again, but sometimes forgets just how dangerous a Watcher can be.
When a code accident destroys Grian's player body and leaves him stuck as a Watcher on Hermitcraft, he is reminded very quickly why They are only meant to Watch. -

“Well look who we have here!”
Grian stiffens at the voice, at the scent, his eyes widening. Warmth crashes into him fiercely, leaving some pathetic noise behind. He turns around on his heel, meeting the pointed end of an arrow. His hazy mind hardly registers the weapon directed at him, instead looking past it, at who it is that’s pointing the arrow at him. He locks gazes with green eyes, finding a lopsided smirk. His heart stutters, and Grian aches.
“Scar…” he mumbles weakly, and he can only imagine how pathetic he sounds.
grian has an unexpected heat during secret life, and pulls scar into a messy situation. good thing scar won’t remember any of it after the game. right?

“And everyone is so old,” Tubbo complains. Somehow, without them knowing about it, Tubbo’s managed to swipe a waffle and is chewing on it happily. Sapnap stifles a laugh. “Well, not everyone, I guess- the kid in our room is our age, I think. He might be younger.”
Wilbur perks up. “Does he ice skate?”
“Yeah, he does. He’s got these sick skates and everything.” Tubbo explains. “He’s quiet though. We tried talking to him, but…”
“But?”
Tubbo shrugs. "He's quiet. He doesn't talk much. I guess he's busy."
or, Tommy's made it to the Olympics for figure skating- he's the youngest contestant on the ice and he's the favor for the gold. He's supposed to be living the dream. So why is he still so unhappy? And why do all these hockey players and snowboarders care so much about him?

Summary
Tommy, Tubbo, and Ranboo have been on the run ever since their identities as werewolves - well, two werewolves and the fae hiding them - were inadvertently revealed to the members of DreamSMP. They've escaped into the borderwilds, but Ranboo's injuries have, finally, forced them to seek help on another server - one ruled over by the kindly archfae Xisuma, and peopled by his players, magical creatures of all stripes.
And it's - good. They may not feel safe enough to be openly were, but no one has questioned Ranboo's glamours, and - they're safe, at least for the moment.
And then Xisuma decides to introduce them to Ren, the king of the server.
Nobody bothered to mention that Ren, too, was a wolf.
