Summary
It had been four months since the end of the final battle with Eggman. Four months since they had beaten Infinite and Robotnik. Since then, the Resistance had worked endlessly to find survivors, help refugees and provide general assistance where they were needed. There were still badnik groups to deal with here and there.
During the war, many had gone missing or had been confirmed killed. Some had been lucky, and had found their family again, alive, and as well as they could be in these times. Some others were rescued or had found a way to get out.
Sonic was among the rescued. They had busted him out of the Death Egg before the end of the war and he had been a key member of the team defeating Eggman, once again.
However, some people were still missing. Shadow The Hedgehog was one of them. The hybrid had been captured by Infinite while on a mission and had not been seen since.

Shadow feels cold, and unsteady, and he balances for a fight, and Sonic mockingly coos, "C'mon now, Shadow. I'm Super, what's a little Chaos Spear gonna do?"
Shadow fires one anyway, watches it fizzle out on Sonic's chest, his expression bored, dismissive. No, worse, Sonic looks amused. "S'just Chaos energy, I'm practically made of the stuff right now. Just charges me up. Like a battery." Sonic's eyes, red, land on Shadow's wrists, his inhibitor rings, and he looks hungry. Sonic says, slow, "You should take those off."
Shadow tenses, "That's a terrible idea, we'll level the country."
"Aw, I can take it, I'd stop you."
Sonic's hand curls around Shadow's wrist, and Shadow makes a panicked sound, curls his paw over Sonic's, inhibitor ring captured between them, and Sonic laughs, "Hey," he leans in, close, too close, "How's about a game?"

Summary
Sir Shadow, a half-fey born knight and fiancé to Prince Sonic, discovers he's pregnant. It should be wonderful news: a child born from the hard-won love between him and the Crown Prince Sonic. However, there is a problem. The wedding is four months away. The child grows stronger each day, his belly swelling more and more, and his presence affecting Shadow's magic; it's getting harder and harder to hide, especially from bitter nobles like Lord Robotnik and his husband, Sir Stone. Then Sonic comes up with a crazy idea: move the wedding date.

"My-" Shadow said, before quickly huffing in frustration. He finally broke eye contact with Sonic to the floor, but it only lasted a few seconds before he looked back into green eyes. "My... cycle started today." He spat out, the redness of his cheeks intensifying.
Sonic furrowed his brows, hopelessly confused. Shadow never bothered to tell either him or Silver when he was on his period, the only real clue the two of them had was that Shadow would wear panrs for a couple days. So Sonic wasn't exactly sure what Shadow wanted just by telling him outright.

Summary
Sonic remembered what Tails said before he left Christmas Island, “try and find out about him from conversation, a close bond with one’s captain and crew is the key to running an efficient ship.”
He hadn’t expected how hard it would be to have a meaningful conversation with Shadow. Every time he tried to strike up a friendly chat with him, he’d shut it down almost instantly. And believe him, he had tried, perhaps pushed a little too much on multiple occasions, but still, nothing. He couldn’t even get Shadow to tell him his favorite color.
So here he was, trying to get information on the guy by digging through his stuff. Was it a severe breach of Shadow’s trust and privacy? Sure. But what he didn’t know wouldn’t hurt him.
