Summary
Just after Grace and Rocky are reunited at Tau Ceti, something odd pops up on the proximity alert. Seized by curiosity and fueled by a need for purpose, Grace reaches out for this artifact, only measuring about a foot across. Despite it's small size, they couldn't have guessed the scale of the discovery.
Neither could Simon, trying to sort out reality and hallucination, as he escapes the horrors lurking in AT-5. He comes face to face with a larger than life figure, coming to terms with his past and his future.

Once they get its passenger stable, they find out he doesn't speak either of their languages, and he's one wrong move from stabbing Grace at any given time.
