Rocky traced the Petrova line on his leg. "This was the most recent part. Finishing a purpose tattoo takes a long time, long long long time. Some never finish theirs in their life. It is stupid to get any part too big, get too confident it will remain important. Or I thought that once. And then I carved this." He stroked it, back and forth. "We all did."

Summary
...Siffrin knew that just because they couldn't see the stars didn't mean they weren't there. Whether hidden by the sun or man-made light, or on full display in the blackened sky, the stars were always with him, always watching from above.
The thought used to comfort Siffrin. Now it only strengthened the ache in their gut that flared every time they thought of what they'd lost.
Siffrin eyes burned with tears. He bit his lip, hard, hoping to distract from the pressure building in his head.
Isabeau, of course, noticed first. "Hey, Sif, you alright?"
"Oh, yeah," Siffrin said, hastily wiping his face. "Doing great!"
Isabeau raised an eyebrow. "Okay. You sure?"
Siffrin shook his head. "It's nothing. Just…" He smiled, sadly. "Just… stars."
Siffrin is fine. He has a family that loves him and plenty of adventures ahead. He's fine.
But he still wants to remember.
And he can read his language now. And he has an ache in his soul that won't go away.
So what if every memory leaves him choking on his own blood? So what if the Universe doesn't want him to remember?
He has to at least try.

You watched Odile's back as she walked the two of you down to the more residential sides of the beach and warned you about the rocks.
You watched as Stardust glanced over his shoulder and flashed you a smile with more affection than you deserved, a reassurance in itself that the two of you would go on to make something out of what you saw today.
And in that moment, with your hand in his and your safety watched out for by Odile, it didn't feel so hard to admit that you loved your friends.

It felt like Loop was setting themself up to be an imposter of themself. They were nothing, so appropriately, they should look like nothing. But it wasn't as if having a sense of identity was a prerequisite for creating a new image in the mirror. Even dolls could be dressed up.
