Summary
Jedediah doesn’t know 100% of what happened while he was out, but he does know that he fell asleep against Octavius on the flight home, that Octavius has apparently spent a lot of time over the last few days stroking his hair while he slept, and that he can still feel the warmth in his palm from Octavius’ hand that first time he woke up. And neither doctor had seemed surprised—besides the initial shock of seeing Jedediah awake—to see him and Octavius holding hands and leaning in close while they talked; in fact, they hadn’t asked about it at all. Their new relationship seemed to be a given, like how the museum exhibits knew things about their historical lives and time periods despite never actually experiencing or living in them.
OR
Immediately following the events of "Sandfall," Jedediah and Octavius finally get to have an actual date. Obviously, it goes 100% as planned.

“Oh, my friend. To think that I… am in love with you.”
He shook his head, exiting in haste to return to Rome before he could do more damage- barely missing a pair of blue eyes shooting open in the dark.
While Jedediah is sick, bedridden with a fever, Octavius comes to visit and takes care of him. Finding the cowboy asleep at his return, Octavius confesses his love for him in the quiet of the night, with no one but the silence to witness it. But, was Jedediah really dreaming away his sickness?

Jedediah looks back up at him. There's a glint in those blue eyes of his. The reflection of the orange glow of the campfire. It might almost be a challenge.
