Summary
He has Rocky make a couple thousand metres of Xenonite string. It is taking a few tries for Rocky to get the right level of thickness, stretchiness, softness. The yarn takes a lot longer to perfect than the needles, which Grace received ages ago. Yarn has energy, the twist using kinetic energy to create its very structure, Grace knows, from using it as a teaching method in his classroom. Rocky tells him that one of his siblings (lit. clutchmates) was a fabric fabricator, his claws waving as he tells story after story, suddenly opening up now that Erid seems a possibility - for Rocky, anyway.
Grace takes apart one of Ilyukhina’s sweaters and practices his stitches.
It passes the time.

Summary
Scratch barked and then tilted his head, to see if barking did anything. Gale pulled down his nightgown around his muddy thighs and said ‘My apol-’ He coughed wetly and dripping lumps of purple sprayed across his front. ‘Sorry,’ he managed. ‘None of that was very dignified. My sincerest apologies about your necklace. I know it meant a lot to you.’ He drank messily, urgently, straight from a jug.
((the necklace? The necklace?!)) Ileleste’s hands shook as he signed. ((let me look at your arm!))
‘Why?’ He wiped his beard down cleanly and precisely with an embroidered handkerchief. A drop of water ran down his chest, past the scars of the orb and soaked into his nightgown. It was still white in places, but mostly it was red, brown and yellow; stuck stiffly to his shaking knees. ‘Never better.’
...
The Orb is worse. Gale learns that the mute drow he’s travelling with has much knowledge of ancient Netherese magic but his attempt at finding a way for them to communicate properly fails. At every trance the drow's past creeps alongside him, becoming more real. The wreckage of Netheril binds them both. Can they escape? Will it be worth it?
Act 1.5/2 now updating!

Summary
You are profoundly alone. You have been for a while. Suddenly, you aren't anymore, and you are struggling to be normal about it. Pooling strengths and weaknesses with the strange creature on its explosive-atmosphere ship might just be the only way to save both of your stars, but it might also lead to more than just strictly scientific discoveries, and neither of you are sure how to feel about that.

Summary
Grace and Rocky survived the trip to Erid. Now, all Grace has to do is live on a planet meant to kill him, charm his best friend's mate, and figure out why all these Eridians keep giving him rocks. Easy right? As long as he doesn't die of scurvy, first.

Summary
"Rocky did not understand human names and titles when we met. Eridian names longer, give information on Eridian's home, associations, skills." For the first time in ages, he positioned two of his arms together, forming the design that Grace thought of like a family crest, a single design bisected.
"You should teach me to read those before we get to Erid, so I can be polite." As Grace considered the linework, already picking up on some vague ideas from the shapes in Rocky's carapace, something else occurred to him. "So… I picked 'Rocky' because your outer shell looks like stone."
"And for inspirational story of athlete who defeats human system of poverty to become great champion. Eye of the tiger."
"Retroactively, yeah." Grace bent at the hips, getting to Rocky's 'eye' level. "So what'd you name me?"

Summary
Rolan had never feared the dark. Had never flinched at shadows or jumped at strange sounds. Had never raced up the stairs toward the light from the depths of a darkened basement. Life was far too full of actual horrors to be afraid of the imagined terrors of things that go bump in the night.
But something strange was happening within the walls of Sorcerous Sundries, and he intended to figure out what it was.

Summary
Resigned, he looks up to the statue's face again, locks eyes with its empty gaze.
"His face is all wrong," Rolan says, distant. If he allows himself to feel anything in this moment he threatens to implode.
Lia laughs, sharp. "I wasn't aware you were an expert on the visage of the Wizard of Waterdeep," she teases. "Another particular interest of yours?"
Five years ago, Gale of Waterdeep made a sacrifice to end the Battle of Baldur's Gate and save the world from the Grand Design.
Except, somehow, Rolan remembers five years of being very much in love with the very much alive Gale. And now, he'll do anything to make it a reality—again.
