“You still are,” Ryota quips back, just to wipe that guilty look from his face. Mitsui rolls his eyes.
“Thank you,” he huffs, but his eyes are wide open and honest, “Maybe we can just be friends now,”
Ryota breathes out, goes all in.
“I don't know man, you have a crush on me. That doesn't end well,” he grins, picking up the pace, “Clearly your hand in friendship is just a way to lure me into your trap, isn’t it?”
“That depends,” Mitsui whispers just for him. “Is it working?”

Zeke doesn't answer right away, but his shoulders slump and he sighs.
