The blonde snorts a sound of amusement. "You know any other routines for shits and giggles then?"
"If you're here for the Summer Solstice Recital, then I know every act, scene, routine sequence, and musical number."
"Huh." The blonde gets to his feet and steps closer. He tosses the left earbud in Izuku's direction. "Then dance, nerd."
Izuku catches it with a quick hand. A smile on his face and a quip on his tongue. "You gonna join me, pretty boy?"

Honestly, Izuku had never intended for this to become his life. He really hadn’t. When they’d made their first video, it had been on the tail of a dare that had been issued to both of them by their mutual friend. Izuku had only agreed if he could have a camera because something about it made him feel just the tiniest bit safer. There was a reason paranormal activity was rarely caught on film, he reasoned. He wasn’t sure if ghosts feared video or if it was just proof that they didn’t exist at all, but it gave him that tiniest extra bit of guts he needed to be able to step into the haunted house, promising to stay the night.
And he still wasn’t sure how he had gone from that moment to this one. This one, where investigating ghosts is his literal profession. This one, where he has a bunch of high tech equipment and a whole crew behind him and Katsuki, catching their every move and editing their adventures together to be shared with the world.

The sound of footsteps jolts him out of his thoughts. Izuku smothers a scream behind his hand, the lunchbox perched on his lap shaking with his convulsions. In his two years of eating here thus far, no one has walked in on him before. Beside him, the cubicle door slams closed, and he can hear the shuffling noises of someone sitting down on the toilet seat. The crinkle of a plastic wrapper, quiet chewing sounds.
It takes him a while to realise that the stranger next door is eating their lunch in the bathroom, too. For a long moment Izuku just sits there motionless, fingers clasped around his chopsticks in a vice grip. Eventually the panic subsides, and in its place is an unusual camaraderie he feels with the stranger.
Before he knows it, he’s blurting out, “Hi I’m Midoriya Izuku.”
Izuku eats his lunch in the bathroom. One day, he's joined by a stranger in the cubicle next door.
