    Summary

“ This year for the 75th Anniversary of the Hunger Games, to remind us of the unnecessary number of casualties during the rebellion, twice as many tributes will be chosen from each district.”

When Torch’s name is drawn out of the reaping, he sees it as a death sentence, a punishment for the escape attempt that failed miserably a few years ago. Things like that aren't forgotten. The odds aren't exactly in his favour but he’s promised his siblings that he will do everything in his power to stay alive. So the last thing he wants to do is ally himself with reckless fellow tribute Clancy who seems to be determined to go out with a bang and bring Torch down with him, not to mention make the remainder of his life hell.

However the games are as unpredictable as they are ruthless, and when strange circumstances force them together, they start to realise that there’s more at stake than their lives.

    Summary

The sun was directly above him by the time he had arrived, and he was so far deep into the forest that the thick canopy of trees had completely blocked everything but the occasional scrap of blue sky.
    Good.
He didn’t want to see the city that had taken so much from him from here, in this grove, this sacred place.
