“Yes, we do. I’m going to remind you how important patience is, and why pressing my buttons in public may be fun, but does come back to haunt you.” He watches Shane shiver.
“Oh… So I’ll tell him no. What do you need from me?”
So helpful, so sweet. It’s a distraction, he’s disarming Ilya. “Prep yourself, then pick out what you want for dinner tonight. You’re going to keep me warm tonight.”After his husband tests the limits a few too many times, Ilya decides his husband needs a lesson in patience, and not always getting what he wants.

Summary
Almost the entire team is here, at this bar that’s in the middle between dingy and overpriced and acts as their usual after-game hangout place. They’re drinking and laughing, easy-going and riding on the fact that Aiku, Niou and Fukaku won’t get carded buying shit for the rest of the team. The rest is probably dealing with their loss in a healthier way than drinking away their sorrows, but tradition is tradition, and Aiku is a responsible captain.
Still, he can’t bring himself to fully enjoy the evening. Every minute or so, his eyes flicker over his teammates. The familiar head of pink hair is missing, and that’s so unlike Sendou that it’s actually making Aiku worry.

Summary
“Why don’t you do anything special with me?” he blurts, before biting down on his lower lip.
Aiku stops dead, forcing Sendou to turn around and face him.
“What do you mean?” he replies, in the careful tone he usually reserves for breaking up arguments between Niou and whatever player hit his nerve that week. Sendou flushes scarlet.
“You don’t do anything special with me,” he mutters, feeling much younger than his seventeen years. “Like… you and Hayate have your fist bump thing. You quote some shit to Darai. You and Niou bang up against each other until you’re bruised! You give Neru headpats! Why not me?”
“Don’t I give you headpats?” Aiku says, eyes wide, unblinking and framed by sooty lashes. They’re so… pretty. Sendou’s glare intensifies.
“That’s—that’s not the point!” he exclaims. “You don’t do anything with me that you don’t do with anyone else! Why?”
Aiku has personalised gestures for each member of the U20 team—everyone but Sendou.
