Summary
Peter Parker knows for a fact that smart kids always know they're smart. Another thing he knows: it fucking sucks to be a smart kid. It means being watched all the time, it means adults peering down their noses, it means tests and homework and boredom. It means fieldtrips to Oscorp and superpowers. It means watching Ben die, knowing exactly whose fault it is. It means an internship at Stark Industries, it means becoming an Avenger, it means getting dusted, coming back, watching another father figure die, watching him come back. It means holding May's hand while she babbles incoherently, inching towards death. It means magic spells and forgetting and seven years of lonely vigilanteism. It means making wrong choice after wrong choice after wrong choice.

“That is a fox,” Barbatos points out rather uselessly the moment he steps foot inside Zhongli’s luxurious home. “You have a fox.”
Zhongli looks down at the adorable but wriggly (and hissy) mass of orange fur in his arms that he’s been trying to calm for the past hour. “Indeed. I have a fox.”
“Why do you have a fox?”
The fox tries to twist out of his grasp with an angry snap of its little jaw. Zhongli merely tightens his hold and ignores its very cute yips of protest. “I found him wandering the streets of Liyue Harbour, lost. I thought it prudent to bring him home in case he got hurt.”
--Zhongli, the old and jaded Geo Archon of Liyue, finds an unexpected companion in the form of a feisty fox spirit who so happens to be one of the Tsaritsa's youngest lieutenants in disguise.

“Mmm, I knew you’d smell even better with your blood really pumping.” He has Suguru’s shoes in hand, each one hooked on a finger. He lifts them so Suguru can see. “Hey, you left these behind. Like Cinderella.”
Except Suguru’s feeling more like the haggard, run-down victim of a wolf and Satoru’s anything but a Prince Charming.
“I think you might actually be a little too into playing vampire,” Suguru spits between labored breaths, his heartbeat hammering like a rabbit’s.
“Playing?” Satoru’s grin bares bright, white teeth. He tosses the heels at Suguru’s feet and continues stalking forward. “C’mon, you still think I’m playing pretend? Suguru, I’m just playing with my food.”
While walking home after some Halloween partying in Shibuya, Suguru encounters a stranger who is also in costume—as a vampire—and bites off a little more than he can chew.

Summary
As a ferryman, Wade’s Wilson role in the cosmos is to usher people from life into death. If asked how he feels about this profoundly important role that he’s played since the dawn of time, Wade would tell it to you straight: It is insanely, mind-numbingly boring.
Until it isn’t.
No one is supposed to be able to see Wade until the moments leading up to their death. So how is it that Spider-Man keeps noticing him and then not, you know, dying? It makes no sense!
