As title suggests. I remember listening to commentary from Alex Hirsch, and apparently he said that Stan expected Ford to come out of the portal a shriveled old man.
That got me thinking, what was Stan's plan? What would have happened if everything worked out exactly the way he wanted to?

I wanted to explore Ford recovering from self harm since I have seen fics reference Ford hurting himself to cope, but I don't think I've seen many things showing how to recover from that. So that's what I did. This is basically Ford drawing on himself with makeup instead of hurting himself as well as more on why he does it.

“Shouldn’t you be heading home now, kid?” Stan asked gruffly, raising an eyebrow.
Soos looked up from organizing his (new!) toolbox. He shrugged, “My Abuelita knows where I am.”
Stan leaned hard against the gift shop counter as he counted that day’s earnings. He sighed, “Nah, I meant, like, your dad or mom. They won’t be callin’ the cops or something?”
A strangled expression crossed Soos’ face, which is weird because so far, the past few weeks of knowing him, he had been a complete ray of sunshine. He looked down and picked up a screw, fiddling with it idly, “I, um, don’t have a dad, Mr. Pines.”
Or,
Stan finds out why Soos has only every mentioned an Abuelita. Little does the kid know, he relates more than he'd like to.
