Everybody okay?” Brewer News was usually a pretty mundane, albeit complicated affair, as there were a lot of them.There were skiing, camping and fishing stories, birthday parties and anniversaries, tales of home improvement and gardening. The craziest thing that happened so far was Patrick’s cousin Trish getting into a mountain bike accident and breaking her collar bone.
No one ever seemed to get stuck in Istanbul, had a gambling debt to settle in Monaco, or needed a fake passport out of Belarus. Which in all honestly, things David didn’t miss.
“Everything’s fine, just fine.” Patrick smiled. “Mom and Dad are thinking about getting a new car, Maybe a Prius.”
“Ooh-nice. Good for them.” David had no doubt that the car was blue. He also tried very hard not to sound suspicious, as this was obliviously not whatever Patrick was practically vibrating over.
Not even a year into their marriage, and David finds himself invaded by Brewers: Patrick's favorite cousin and his family. David tries to deal, and it's not easy when this Brewer invasion includes his worst nightmare-kids. David tries his best for Patrick's sake, and is surprised that he has much in common with a small Brewer.

Sam and Bucky rush over too, their feet hitting the ground hard.

But it isn’t funny and it isn’t a joke and Tony can tell that immediately, and he watches, he’s watching as Peter’s eyes go cloudy, he’s watching as the horror overtakes Peter’s expression and mangles it.

He'd much rather go back to talking about his non-existent love life, thanks.
The trip is during spring break—a four day long trek out into the wilderness, camping and hiking and gathering who even knows what, learning all about nature and the great outdoors.
But the real kicker?
It's an event specifically designed for fathers and their sons, which is something Peter doesn't have, and something he will never be.
Not again.

It's not like they're really hurting him, they're just saying shit, everyone talks shit. Eventually, the shit-talking will be about something else, the teen thinks, so he just has to wait it out.
The one positive thing is that the bullying only seems to happen while on the bus. When he's actually at the school, no one bothers him, probably because he's around Peter.
And there's no need to tell Peter about this if it's all just going to blow over in a week. The guy's got enough on his plate - like being freaking Spider-Man, for one - to worry about something as petty as this.

Homecoming AU.
Ben and May divorced before Peter’s parents died, so when Ben is murdered Peter goes into foster care. It takes just a tiny taste of superpowers for Peter to decide he doesn’t want to put up with his horrible foster father anymore—the streets are infinitely more appealing. All he wants is to be Spider-Man anyway.
So he leaves.
Simple.
Simple, that is, until Iron Man needs Spider-Man’s help. Peter isn’t about to turn down an opportunity to fight alongside Tony Freaking Stark, but he also isn’t going to let his hero know that his recruit is a fifteen-year-old homeless dropout. So they strike a deal. Peter will help Tony. In return, the mask stays on.
