Mihawk then grabbed his shoulders and tried shaking him, the clown's head pitifully flopping back and forth. He eventually let him fall back onto the ground before he stood. A deep frown had made its way onto his stoic face.
"He's not waking up."
"I, too, am in the possession of eyes," Crocodile snarked in response to the blunt observation, the way he held onto his cigar tenser than usual.
OR: Buggy suddenly falls ill like he did right before Laughtale, and the Executives of Cross Guild have to take care of their sick clown.

Kakashi frowned. "I like you, Gai. Have I really never told you that?" A depressing thought occurred to him. "Oh. Am I dead? Is that it?"

The thing about it is that, while some people grow into themselves, Kakashi is the sort of person who grew out of himself. He wasn't ever very good at being a child. Gai hadn't noticed it when he was a child himself, but now that he's got a teenage version of his rival on hand to compare with, he's starting to come to some belated realizations. It shouldn't be surprising; who really gets to be a child in a ninja village? But Kakashi was definitely worse at it than most.
He'd feel sympathetic, except for how the cocky little bastard keeps inexplicably hitting on him.

There was a sudden sense of foreboding in Katsuki’s gut that grew as Izuku prattled excitedly from his thigh, finally explaining how his forbidden ‘mate-divination’ worked, and how with ‘only’ a few very specific parameters, and some definitely stolen hair, he’d been led to the exact temple that Katsuki was currently trudging towards.
“If the old Gods allowed this temple to fall to ruin, Izuku, they probably wouldn't want nosy alphas messing around in there,” Katsuki admonished a while later when the chatter subsided, before kicking something that didn’t feel like a root, grunting as he curled his toes in his boots reflexively. He bent to hold ferns aside, brows knitting. “The temple is covered in Runes, right?” he prompted.
"Have you found it?” He clearly couldn’t contain the breathless excitement in his voice, and Katsuki found himself smiling, even as he rolled his eyes and pulled the enchanted mirror free to point at his discovery.
“I think we’re getting close,” he rumbled.

“A fellow poet?” He echoed absently, before a dazed smile took place. “She thinks I'm a poet?”
Kakashi rolled his eyes to the heavens.
“That's not the point, Gai. It made me think about it, and—” He frowned, dropping his hand from his chin to lay it over his other on the table between them. “Why aren't you? With someone like you? I watch you thrive when Lee returns your energy to you, you clearly enjoy it.”
Gai’s smile diminished, and his brow furrowed as he grew more serious and leaned into his own crossed arms over their shared table. He looked Kakashi up and down, silent and oddly analytical.
“Kakashi. Are you really asking me right now… if I settled..?”
Kakashi blinked.
“Um… well. I wasn't—aware that I was. But... Yeah. I guess so.”
Gai’s squinted eyes only narrowed more. He planted his hands on the table between them, rising to a kneel as Kakashi braced himself for whatever theatrics were about to unfold.
“You really, truly wonder if I settled? For the greatest Jonin in Konoha?”
“I'm not thee greatest, Gai—”
