It’s bad to rile up the abstractions. Pomni knows that. But the creature just looks at her finger, going cross-eyed, before all the eyes move back to her face.
“And when I do find you again out there, which I will,” she swears, “I’m going to beat you up for everything, and it will hurt and it will bruise because we’ll have real blood and actual bodies, and… and you’ll take it, because I’m going to get you back for all the hell you put me through."
Pomni takes in a breath.
"And I'll finally be able to get to know you, Jax."

When C&A is forced to dismantle the Digital Circus after the press reveals the brain scans in their database were involuntary, the crew are given one final chance at freedom: every memory accumulated inside the simulation will be returned to their original hosts.

“Stop! Stop! You’re going to kill me!”
Perhaps it’s because of how often they did this, but Pomni hadn’t thought Jax was being serious in his pleas. So she persists, so focused on her task that she doesn’t see him reach forward with his long neck and clamp his mouth around her leg.
They’re just friends, but Jax likes to bite Pomni for some reason.
(Alternatively, five times Jax bites Pomni (innocently) and the one time Pomni bites Jax (not so innocently).)
