Summary
Night City takes everything. David Martinez knew this better than most.
In the wake of his mother's death, the world expected him to crumble. Instead, he thought it through. Rage had targets but not all of them were worth hitting. So he picked a different one and headed to Pacifica.
There he found more than he bargained for. A fixer with a proposition. A deal that gave his mother's dream a second chance.
But something else woke up when that implant was installed. Something old, something that remembered a world David was never part of.It had been a surprise to wake up in someone like her 'host' and it wasn't sure yet whether that was a good thing or not. If only her 'host' was a netrunner like that output of his. Things could've gone more smoothly if it did.

David had been somewhat worried he’d get completely blown off when he’d given Kiwi a call, but after briefly negotiating a 50/50 cut, she had actually agreed. On one condition. She just wanted one little extra thing in return, on top of the eddies:
After deep-diving for him, she was to be allowed to use him as a personal heating pad for the rest of the day. A condition that, to David’s surprise, had not simply been a joke. She’d gotten him the info he was looking for, climbed out of the bath, pulled out her plug, and then she’d only spent a short minute wiping herself off with a towel—all in plain view for him to see—before she dragged him over to the big couch in the middle of the hideout and practically wrapped herself around him. Without so much as a word said between them.
And now here he was; being cuddled by a nude woman because his back got really warm after using his Sandevistan.
Frankly… David had to admit there were worse ways to spend an evening.
