Summary
“Well…” Ren starts, even though no more than half an hour ago he punched Akechi in the face, “I… have Phantom Thief money.”
It feels lame in his mouth and so he stops himself there, even though this does not convey nearly the amount of information it needs to. This is backed up when Akechi just stares at him blankly.
“… Which is not Detective Prince money,” He continues, “But… might buy something better than a… questionably clean hotel.”
Akechi snarls a laugh. “I don’t need your handouts.”
“I mean—” Ren rushes, and it’s so pathetic how his protective anger has abandoned him to his vulnerable desperation, “It’s not a handout if I’m there too.”
Akechi blinks at him, then plants his face in his hands. “Oh dear God no.”
Ren looks up in time to see Akechi outside the train window before he departs from Tokyo. After missing his train to catch up with him, and with Akechi having nowhere to go in light of his miraculous resurrection, it's only logical and ergonomic they share a hotel room for a night. Or two.

His gloved fingers drummed on the wooden counter - impatient, pondering. "We both make frequent commutes to see each other every day, meet up all over Tokyo, all while living alone and paying separate rent. Do you not think it would be more, practical, so to speak-"
"Oh my God." Akira broke off Goro's rambling with a startling and beautiful revelation, almost jumping out of his chair with starry eyes. "You're not suggesting we-"
"Wait-" Goro's pointer finger met Akira's lips, and a smirk widened with pride on his own. "-until I'm finished."
And in almost an instant, Akira shut up.
Together for a few months now, Goro and Akira decide to finally move in to their own home. But that decision actually takes a while for them to make, and instead, they spend their time fantasising and falling for each other all over again.

“Come on, Akechi, I let you bully me into making mediocre coffee,” Amamiya teases, leaning on the bar again.
“Such a big word, where did you learn it?” Goro grumbles back, but alas, the food is still too hot for consumption. “The onions worked last time; now I’m using them as a precaution.”
Amamiya blinks. “Are you haunted by vampires or something…?”
Goro snorts. “That’s garlic, not onions.” Garlics have a potent smell as well though… Too little too late, unfortunately, Goro thinks. He will just have to stick with his current option. “No, it’s worse: I’m going on a date.”
Amamiya tilts his head.
Goro Akechi’s forced to endure the worst punishment a person can probably get: being set up on blind dates by his way-too-nosy friends.
Between combatting the accusations that he even needs a love life in the first place, actively sabotaging said love life with the help of Ren Amamiya, the new barista at his favorite cafe, and the occasional early mid-life crises, Goro learns more about himself than he ever expected to.

Logically, it does make sense. The Phantom Thieves have been getting a lot of attention recently, good and bad reputation alike, and with the latter being fueled by the famous Detective Prince himself it shouldn’t really surprise Akira that a bunch of fans came up with… this kind of content.
