She’s just flopped down on the bed next to Loki, the movement of the mattress almost causing him to lose his place as he rests his open book face down in his lap and turns his head to look at her, confusion written all over his features.
“Oh, right. You may not have heard that slang before. Um. You know. Very full, as you’ve put it before.” She’s grinning. “Drunk, hammered, inebriated, intoxicated… incapacitated…” Her voice seems to really curl around that last descriptor with something that sounds like it could be intrigue, or… wistfulness? Loki struggles to reconcile it all in his head.
“Incapacitated? Wh… Sylvie, you don’t even drink—”
“I didn’t,” she corrects. “Maybe I want to start.”
Sylvie has been avoiding alcohol her entire life. She has an idea of what could make her feel better about it, but it’s rather unconventional. -

Summary
Loki is the black sheep of the prestigious Odinson dynasty. His life has been a whirlwind of indulgence without consequence - but now his adoptive father has firmly thrown down the gauntlet and threatened to cut off Loki's inheritance if he doesn't clean up his act.
Begrudgingly, he allows himself to be checked into a private rehab facility. He just needs to make it through the 12 week program sober, and then normal service can resume.
However, one of his peers, Sylvie, takes an instant disliking to him and seems set on reading him for filth at every opportunity.

Her face didn’t seem younger, not noticeably, but her eyes were. They were rawer, less guarded, and still as intelligent and lively as he remembered them.
"Who are you?"
She was indeed Sylvie but she wasn’t his Sylvie, not yet. Loki found himself considering the possibility she was just another Variant, but he discarded that option almost immediately. Maybe the timeline was a mess right now, but he severely doubted there could be many female Loki Variants out there, running from one apocalypse to the next. The obvious conclusion at this point was that she was, indeed, the right Variant, just at an awfully wrong time, a time in which she didn’t even know who he was.
What were the implications? Was he going to change their future by revealing his identity to her? With the universe in shambles, did that really matter? Just in case, he tried a softer approach for now.
“A friend,” Loki had to refrain himself from winching for how soft and broken his voice sounded as he spoke to her. They were more than friends, much more than that, but something told him this Sylvie wasn’t exactly ready to hear that.
