Slade was delivered a curve ball. A squalling babe dropped into his lap during the middle of a meeting about what to do with the new refugees The portal closed and the babe was his. As much as he wanted to deny the infant his was his, the cursed white hair and his own nose graced the babes face said otherwise. And it was possible that he had been with the mother, but he could not place a name or face to that occasion.
It still left him with quite the problem. He had a small child that needed to be fed and no one was around to do so. It was best for a babe to be fed by a pack member and unfortunately Slade did not have one around.When Gothams Capital fell, it felt like the word was burning down. Dick lost track of Jason. Traveling with Damian wasn’t easy. A single omega parent and pup were easy targets to many on the road.
There were many nights Dick went to sleep hungry, there were other nights he was taken in by a sympathetic pack as he made his way to the region of Defiance. Defiance was an outer province of Gotham, one where Bruce’s mother had come from.Hiatus June 2 to July 1st

They didn't talk much about why Stiles was back in town.
His mother had been inordinately proud of that fact she went into labor and delivered Stiles alone in the woods. It was the eighties, she couldn’t exactly call her husband on her cell phone. Stiles was born healthy in the preserve.
Scott got hurt. Scott is Stiles to protect. He always has been. Stiles is pissed about quite a few things. “Scott is my fifteen year old cousin! And you hurt him and then left him alone and hurt? What’s wrong with you?” He has gotten very close to Derek’s face. Stiles takes a breath and turns away.

“The Red Hood has been good for Gotham,” Robin continued. “Crime in Park Row decreased by sixty one percent almost as soon as you showed up, and that’s even taking into account all the crime you commit. Drug overdoses have decreased by twenty two percent in adults and seventy nine percent in minors. Homeless minors are ninety two percent less likely to—”
“Kid,” Jason interrupted. “Enough statistics. What the hell is this about?”
Robin slowly lowered the tablet with his powerpoint presentation and looked up at Red Hood.
“You care about Gotham,” Robin summarised. “Gotham needs Batman. Batman is missing and so is Nightwing. We need you to fill in for Batman.”
“You want me to cover Batman’s patrols?” Jason clarified.
“No,” Robin said. “I want you to be Batman.”
Jason bluescreened.
(Or: Batman and Nightwing mysteriously disappear before Red Hood has even started antagonising them, Robin is desperate, Gotham needs Batman, and Red Hood is Batman-Shaped.)

Summary
What would it take, to make you give up your freedom?
Dick Grayson has always known the answer to that question, ever since he was a pup. He never had much of a choice. Whoever has possession of a selkie’s fur pelt controls them entirely, that’s just the way it is. His mother always told him to guard his heart, and to never, ever trust humans with his secret. The one time he broke her rule, his family paid for it. And then, he was all alone.
Distraught, he leaves his home on the coast to flee inland, heading east into the Rocky Mountains and beyond. Eventually, winter hits the mountains like a battering ram, and his flight comes to a halt in Haven.
Haven is a quaint ranching town hidden in the Rockies. There, he meets Bruce Wayne, a grizzled cowboy-turned-drunk with a checkered past. From the moment he sees him, Dick knows he’s exactly the sort of man his mother warned him about. Then he makes a mistake, and Bruce Wayne ends up in possession of his pelt.
So he makes a bargain for his freedom. He needs to be out of Haven by the summer, come hell or high water.
… But if that’s true, why can't he quit Bruce Wayne?

Dick still refused to tell them who Haley’s sire was and he had no immediate plans to do so. Even though he was pretty sure the majority of them either already knew or held their own private suspicions. The fact that Haley looked almost like an exact replica of him from her skin tone to her adorable tiny nose and her precious black locks no doubt further intrigued them.
Except for her eyes. While his own were a darker blue, hers were a light almost icy sheen. When he first held Haley in his arms, Wintergreen made a comment about how it was common for a baby’s eye color to change during their first year. Dick hadn’t said anything at the time, but he knew deep down that Haley’s wouldn’t.
