He’s also – separately – a raging alcoholic with trust issues and a penchant for taking the world’s burdens on his too-thin shoulders. It’s just pretty unfair how everybody just lets him fling his body around with reckless abandon for other people’s causes, no matter how good he is at fighting.

    After Luo Binghe took his limbs, his dignity, and every last mercy the world had left to deny him, Shen Qingqiu died with the broken shards of Xuan Su in his throat.

    That should have been the end.

    Instead, death gave him a worse punishment: consciousness without control, eyes that watched while another soul wore his face, moved his hands, softened his voice, and lived the life Shen Qingqiu had never been able to keep.
